From what i see in the picture, you have the sphere entirley made of dirt (no grass) and it is directly above a lake. I reccomend at least making the top layer of the sphere into grass (using creative mode/ toomanyitems) and use MCEdit to make it above the void. This looks like it would be really fun to do with a little TLC to the map
