The SS Deutschland was a german ocean liner launched in 1900 built for the Hamburg-America Line, being the second ship to have four funnels on the transatlantic route. The ship won the Blue Riband on her mayden voyage, but lost it to the Lusitania in 1907. On that same year, the ship had a refit that fixed her vibration problems. In 1910 she was converted to a cruise ship and became very popular among the traveling public. After the outbreak of WW1, she was requisitioned as an auxiliary cruiser. But due to a fire that broke out during the conversion, and due to problems with her engines, the conversion was never completed. After the war she was converted again as a imigration ship but by then the ship wasn't profitable anymore. It was scrapped in 1925.
