She was the largest ship built in the United States, total length from 990 feet long, tad short of the Queen Mary. laid down in 1951 and launched in 1952, her construction was top secret as she was being built by the standards of the Unites States Navy. Her perpindiculars are total length 990 ft, 101.5 ft tall, with top speed of 32 knots. She was famed the fastest ship in the world on her maiden voyage. Presently she is laid up in Philidephia waiting to be saved. Now she has been added to the Pan- American Shipping Lanes.
