I've been wondering for a while if it's possible to make every single color using stained glass. Obviously this is not every single color there is, however I think it looks nice and it's a good enough representation. This is probably useless , however if anyone finds a good use for this hmu on discord( Tudor#2616 ) :D.

You can make around 4,000 different colors with it. There are 255^3 total colors in the 8-Bit color space spectrum not including alpha channels though. My real question has always been how to show every single one of those colors on a two-dimensional plane in one picture in a way that makes sense. Color is really three-dimensional. Hue, saturation, and brightness

There's actually way more than 4.000, but most of them are different browns , This schematic alone has around 14.100 :P . Since there are 16 glass colors and at 8 glass layers you pretty much have 0% transparency you can make 16^8=2^32 colors; obtainable just with purely opaque glass layers. If you're going to take transparency into account you'd have to double that. And since you can have a lot of base layers (normal blocks) you can multiply 2^33 with the number of blocks in game(not sure what that is). I actually wanna do just that, display every single color possible in an "elegant" way. My version of displaying colors is quite limited when it comes to saturation , since I only have 7 levels. Hue is quite easy to handle by using a binary numbers when it comes to layers. Lightness is a bit harder to take care of , however it's not nearly as hard as saturation. If you would want to suggest something can always contact me on discord. I'd be happy to help or even make something together :D.

Edit: I just noticed that you're the guy who made PixelStacker, nice work :P.

Oh, you're using multiple layers of glass. I calculate about 3700 colors using just one layer of glass and then the (smooth-ish) block textures below it. But yeah if you stack multiple glass panes ontop of glass panes the total color combo counts can rise quite quickly.

As for helping me out- You want to figure out how to build a 2D test image that can effectively test the full color range of 3D color space? I've been trying for a while but it is usually difficult to get any meaningful value out of it.

Thanks for the compliment on PixelStacker! :D
