HUGE CHANGES COMMING SOON!

Because of the major changes in map-generation that came with Beta1.8, my friends and me decided to create a new map for the server. So, we startet from the very beginning two weeks ago. And so far, the Jedi Temple does not exist.

But don't worry, I have a backup from the old server map and will soon copy-paste it to the new map.

But I'll wait for the 1.9-Update, because there (hopefully) will be an easy way to change the overall mapheight. Then, I'll place the Temple on the surface of the map, not in that deep hole, like before. It's much more appropriate for such an amazing building.

So you have to wait a few more weeks (1 or 2, at least) for new pics from the Temple.

But I wasn't lazy the last weeks. I build a cool shopping mall for our server's item-shop (you can see it in my projects here on planetminecraft) and, more important, I build the new Temple area together with my friends.

We will have many different cities on our server. A modern one with scyscrapers and so on already exists, and even more (egyptian, medieval,...) are planed. Especially a futuristic city will be build, and the Temple goes right into it's center.

That futuristic city will be build inside a round basin (or to be more precise, a spherical surface), that already exists. See the last three pics above!

It is 470 Blocks in diameter and about 30 Blocks deep. The Temple will be placed right on the Obsidan-marked surface in the middle and it will be surrounded by many other futuristic buildings.

And the first of all is the Minecart-station, that connects it to the other cities. It is build according to another Star Wars building, the Jedi Temple's Spaceport. A long, thin tower with spaceship-docking-ports on top (see the fourth-last pic). When the mapheigght will be expanded, we'll finish the station by building the thin top of it, along with a docking spaceship.

Hi there,

As a huge StarWars-Fan, it was only logical for me to build this amazing building from the movies.
I wanted it to be as big as it could be so that this temple would have a lot of the monumental aura of then"original" one.

I started with some paper sketches of the temple-outlines to get a feeling for the scales and dimensions that I would need to use.
I decided to make it 120 Blocks in height (cause it's an even number and leaves a bit room for modifications, also I wouldn't need to remove the Bedrocks) and therefore the resulting baselenght had to be 155 Blocks.
I set myself the aim to build this one completely by hand and without any plugin-tools. I only wanted to rely on OP-commands to get all materials, which would have taken me forever to mine them. And I used WorldEdit to make the hole the temple is build in.

I then started building the outlines of the temple and some of my friends on the server helped my fill them out. It took about 15 hours to build the temple walls.

So far, it only consists of the outer walls and ceilings completely made out of sandstone. Brown wool serves as a decoration. Afterwards I plan to make the interior as close to the original as I can, but this would take quite long. A final step would be to remove the stonewalls of the pit so that the temple area fits more smoothly to the surrounding world.

So far, I have used over 51800 Sandstone blocks, more than 6800 wool, 700 glass blocks and almost 1000 steps...!

Currently I'm working on the mountaintop (called the 'sacred spire') the temple is build on. It is a fairly large peak, as you can see in this picture.

You're welcome to visit our SMP-server and also the temple. Just follow the path from the spawn area to Lakeville city, there you'll find a teleport-room in the main underground train-station from where you can easily travel to the temple.
