'ello boys and girls...
This is the first project I have decided to run a progress thread on.
I've been building on MC for a while now with varying success. Most of it has been on my server with some family and friends, and they suggested I put this online as they felt it 'needed sharing'
So here it is. The start of my suspension bridge connecting the mainland to a large jungle biome across the bay. I plan to build a cocoa bean farm there eventually but not till the bridge is finished.
I started out with the intention of making a modern H design bridge with two stone pillars at either end, but it wast long into the build that I decided to add the brick and redstone lamps. After I completed the first pillar I then thought it would be cool to make each side of the bridge have four pillars and make a Brooklyn Bridge design. Sfter getting most of the way through the third pillar I had the circle window idea for the centre section. Unfortunately because of the layout of an even number of blocks on the pillar I had to make an adjustment to accomodate the circle window design evenly. This ment re-doing the bricks, redstone lamps and wiring and adding extra height to the pillars. It was definately worth it though.
With one window in place I was contemplating what sort of pattern to do on them when my brother suggest I put a pick axe on them. This quickly evolved into putting a different tool on each side.
Still trying to work out in my head how the bridge deck is going to look, but that will be coming soon.
I will be updating this post as I go so stay tuned.
Texture pack is Misa's Realistic Pack.
I build in creative mode. Thats just how I roll.
