The T-80UKM is a modernization made for the T-80U and T-80UK's. It incorporates the autoloader from the T-72 series, and simple steel sheets to increase ammo protection and safety. It also uses the 2A83 125mm smoothbore cannon. The T-80UKM was designed in 1995, and put into production in 1997. Its design was made after the battle of Grozny where the T-80 series performed horribly. The MBT would be the singular thing saving Omsk-transmash from bankrupcy. The tank would eventually lead to the Black Eagle's entrance into service and the rise of Russian armor development yet again.
