Here is the start of my fictional cities lore: Heraclea was a Greek city founded in the time of Alexander. With the spread of the Roman empire the city was Romanized a few centuries later. The cities main deity was Hera, wife of Zues, and a large temple was erected in her honor. An earthquake destroyed the temple, and when the romans took control of the city, they rebuilt the temple on a grander scale to their god Juno, the roman equivalent to Hera. This is the Temple they built!

In Roman days, there was no separation of church and state, and Temples were official public government buildings. In addition to being a place of worship for the cities Matron goddess, the temple was also a treasury and mint, and under the temple were large store houses for gold and minting coins.

The temple is about 70% finished. The treasury and coin minting areas under the temple need to be finished, and a statue of Juno and the interior of the main temple needs to be finished.
