In the depths of one of Runebrire's most populous cities lies the Alasantine Underground. Unlike many underground areas in other cities, Alasantine's bowels are relatively clean and safe. The citizens of the great city use it to live during massive attacks from foreign powers. The area is large enough to contain all of the city's citizens.
Though it is safe, there are a few hidden dungeons in which some claim contain the treasures of Old Alasantine. Many adventurers have ventured further than it is safe and have not returned with their lives. Alasantine's Underground also contains aqueducts and a large tunnel system. In the tunnels live many misers and lepers begging for the gullible citizens for money or other less dignified acts. This area also connects all of Alasantine's illustrious government buildings. This makes transportation easier during the colder months and also during foul weather.
