You are Darwin Styx, a freelance investigative journalist from Denver, Colorado. You awaken in an abandoned building-- an old factory, by the looks of it-- with only a vague metallic taste in your mouth and a small memory of taking the secret exit out of the asylum. The sun is setting quickly, and you only know one thing: you must find your way out and tell the world what you've seen, what you've been through. But there is something deeper going on behind-the-scenes, and it may be closer than you could've ever imagined.

PLANNED RELEASE DATE: JULY, 2018

The Awakening: Chapter I is a direct sequel to my older maps, The Sewer and The Asylum. While this is the case, it certainly isn't necessary to play either of them beforehand; they're not terribly good. This map is inspired by games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Outlast, Alien: Isolation, SOMA, etc. In other words, it emphasizes survival horror and small puzzles, encouraging exploration and boasting a storyline that's much deeper than what you see on the surface.

This map features:

-Voice acting done by myself and others (full credits will be released when the map is finished).
-An immersive storyline with characters designed to be realistic and memorable.
-Eerie 256x256 textures thanks to a modified port of the Silent Hill resource pack by RedXuchilbara.
-Custom music from Incompetech & Kevin MacLeod.
-About 30-45 mins. of gameplay
-Okay, a couple of jumpscares. But they aren't cheap and they make sense, I promise! ;)

WARNING: This map contains a decent amount of language, though none of it is terribly offensive or jarring; it's more to enhance fear and character. There are also some mature themes throughout, perhaps a bit moreso than in my older, previous horror maps. FOR THE TIME BEING, I AM RATING THIS MAP T for TEEN. Feel free to play if you are younger, but that's my take on the content within.

I really am super happy to be not only working on a new horror map, but also to be near done with it. It's nice to go back to my roots and finish what I originally started. I sincerely hope you all enjoy this map.
