This map depicts the battle of Authie. The battle took place on D-Day +1, June 7, 1944. It involved first an assault by the Canadian infantry units up to the village of Cussy before they were pushed back by a counterattack by the 12th SS Panzergrenadier Division and a unit of German soldiers. It was a violent and bloody engagement, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of soldiers on both sides. It was also the site of one of the worst war crimes committed against Canadian soldiers during the war with 156 POWs being killed without justification by the German soldiers.
This map was made with the Call to Battle 2 mod (Link to download it) and is more or less 1000 blocks by 1000 blocks. You will note that I have included my previously built map the Battle of Buron as well, this is because Buron was a mere 1 kilometer away from Authie and was involved in the counter attack. I hadn't originally intended to do it, but it was a nice coincidence that I could fit it in.
Also note that the M4 Sherman and Panzer III designs are borrowed from AngryLoyer's WW2 Forces Pack.
If you use this, credit me, otherwise use at your leisure.

Update #1 : by S2eforme 11/25/2020 3:46:26 pmNov 25th, 2020
Destroyed much of the buildings in the three villages to various extents (holes in walls, almost complete loss of structural integrity... etc.) Made this in a separate world file. Map download file now contains both the destroyed version and the intact version, labeled as such.
