The Beaux-Arts Library is an entry for The Venom 250-sub contest held by Venom. It got me the fourth place! Thanks so much for holding this contest!
Yeah, I know.. It been a while ago!
I've been really busy with youtube and stuff and really had no time to upload new projects. I have a few others finished to who knows when these are coming out! Probably soon-ish. Anycow, here's a new project for you guys!
I visited Lille a few weeks ago and that is where I heard about Beaux-Arts. Later a friend of mine (thanks Infinite Enigma) redirected me at this really interesting style i'm certainly going to do more often and then.. I had a perfect idea! I took the style with a little flavour of fantasy. The island, tree, bridge/docks design are not really realistic but do add some scenery and detail to the total build!
'Beaux-Arts architecture expresses the academic neoclassical architectural style taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris'
Beaux-Arts architecture depended on sculptural decoration along conservative modern lines, employing French and Italian Baroque and Rococo formulas combined with an impressionistic finish and realism.
Slightly overscaled details, bold sculptural supporting consoles, rich deep cornices, swags and sculptural enrichments in the most bravura finish the client could afford gave employment to several generations of architectural modellers and carvers of Italian and Central European backgrounds. A sense of appropriate idiom at the craftsman level supported the design teams of the first truly modern architectural offices.
Though the Beaux-Arts style embodies an approach to a regenerated spirit within the grand traditions rather than a set of motifs, principal characteristics of Beaux-Arts architecture included

The Texturepack used in the render, screenshots and video is the Johnsmith Legacy. Chunky was used for the render, and I used Chocapic13's Ultra Shaders for the video, which was made with Camera Studios, optifine, and edited in Camtasia. Thanks Glaciem for them letting me use the server for voxel and worledit finishing!
