What a wonderful hive! Only thing I would say to improve it is to remove the random spread of yellow wool and yellow stained clay and use both of them to show shade. for example: the darker yellow texture in the crevices of the hive, and the lighter yellow on the outer bulges. would make the shape stand out heaps more!
