Description:
This build is my third attempt at building the Black Pearl as seen in the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" movie franchise.
In order to achieve a build that was more accurate than my first two attempts I used blueprints from Google Images for inspiration and in order to get a feel for the dimensions of the ship.
I then started with a rough outline of the hull, thus trying to approximate an end result I could be content with.
Afterwards I went on to add some of the memorable details to the hull, for example the dining room at the ships stern and the figurehead at the ships bow.
Meanwhile I consecutively changed the hull up to fit my imagination.
Later on, I added the decks. I tried to make them as similar as possible to the original ship featured in the movies. This, however, was not as easy of a task, because there was no blueprint to be found that showed the entire inner workings of the ship.
On the upper deck there is only a set of eight cannons to be seen. However, you are able to get to the dining room and find another two small decks with two cannons each.
On the second deck, there are another 18 cannons to be found, accompanied by a small dinghy. The captain's cabin is located on this deck as well.
Another deck below there are the hammocks for the crew and a few cells to keep hostages or prisoners from escaping the ship.
The fourth deck is filled with a lot of barrels and, of course, the treasury.
After fully decorating the decks, I went on to building the masts and the sails, which was quite a challenge as well.
Therefore it took me quite a long time.
Finally, I cut out the ship and pasted it into a fitting map to complete the project.
