Well... This is still the best basic bone meal design out there in 2023 so I thought why not add capabilities to it?

Meet the XL.

The original base design of the machine has been kept and very minor adjustments made- The "OG" schematic.

The XL is the natural progression for the OG and the reason for its own page.

The facility has been upgraded some to accommodate storage but also to have the ability to bypass composting for the raw drops from the farm and be stackable for higher output. This is split across 2 versions with 4 schematics- the XL and the XLM

The XL is the Base facility for Bone Meal. The XL can be used on its own or can be stacked upon with the XL-Stack.
The facility boasts 155 dbl chests of storage that are fed by water flow that terminates to lava for overflow protection.

The XL-Stack is intended as named- to be stacked on top of the main or another stack to increase the output. This section is equipped with an output ejector to a drop riser that is an open conduit for all sections drops to fall to the main floor.
The Stack replaces the top level of the section being pasted onto with its floor. You can remove the extra stairs up and torch/ block for the control riser/s to set the top level. The design of both schematics is intended to have seamless pasting of the staircases and a control riser for a main control lever at ground level to turn all sections off.

The XLM is the busiest of the 3 facilities. This one is also intended to be stacked upon as desired but this one is dedicated to the Moss Blocks, Moss Carpet, Azalea and Flowering Azalea. The excess Bone Meal and Seed are destroyed. The XLM holds 30 dbl chests of the Moss Blocks and Flowering Azalea and 25 of the Carpet and Azalea.
The facility employs a recirculation system above the storage that holds the drops at a flow that is constantly taken in by the filtered hoppers.
The passive overflow of the XL experiences greater loss due to volume and multi type drops here as tested so this version uses a hopper line overflow below the filter hopper so it has constant intake instead.
The XLM is equipped with a run stop system that will stop all sections in the event that the purge dropper becomes full. The sections are also equipped with the ability to produce both Bone Meal or the raw drops by either control riser or lever.
The main purpose here is to produce drops but when bone meal drops to a certain level the system will automatically switch to compost to replenish the bone meal and back again when done- or that's the idea. This will happen to all sections if the Main runs low due to the second control riser here that is automatic and controlled by the amount of Bone Meal that is in the main floor feed dropper.

The XLM-Stack is intended the same as the XL-Stack and is pasted the same but again adds features. This Stack is equipped with the ability to lock to compost position for constant Bone Meal output or to allow the section to flipflop on its own back and forth to produce drops and then replenish its own bone meal as well as respond to the main's control riser.
The Stack is set to switch itself to compost when its feed/push dropper is empty and back to Moss when the timer has passed.
The hopper timer is placed to extend the time that the section will have to make a small cache of BM for itself to prevent rapid flipping.

Setup runs better when there's a Stack dedicated to BM output. This basically has the lower unit with its own BM supply and pausing happens above stacks off/on- more or less.

There are 5 schematics total included in the download.

Remember to paste redstone asynchronously using methods like Carpet or Fastasynchworldedit. Pasting in tick time presents immediate block updates upon paste among other anomalies that break redstone builds.
