Time to sail the seas and hunt for buried treasure in the beautiful Elijah Islands.
The Elijah Islands is a project I've been working on for a while - it's always been a goal of mine to create a good jungle setting, and I've finally achieved something close to the goal. The Elijah Islands are a chain of islands connected to a mountainous jungle paradise, and when you're exploring them they really come alive with atmosphere and climate - swimming through the shallow waters between islands is something which isn't usually special, but with the smoothed sand and seaweed it's incredibly immersive - if you're wanting to play as a pirate or create a pirate themed build The Elijah Islands is definately the map to do it on.
This map was heavily inspired by small islands near Havana in Cuba, the setting for 'Black Flag'. This is the first time I've done a chain of jungle islands and I'm happy with how it turned out, but in future jungle builds I'm going to be turning the density of trees up and also experimenting with long beaches, which are also a goal of mine to create. This terraform also marks the use of seaweed and searocks for the first time - and they're fantastic! I'm still experimenting to find the best way of using them but it's definately something I'll be using more in the future. The map was a challenging one yet one I feel turned out really nicely - ever since I've gotten rid of using 'Stone Mix' the mountains have been looking much, much better. Thanks for all the support on my maps, I'm really happy you all are enjoying them - they're very fun to create and I'm really thankful for all of the support I'm getting! Thanks everyone!
