The Frozen Forgotten Temple Minecraft Map
Text only version of above
Prelude
In the heart of the frozen ocean between all the unaccessible islands lies a forgotten Temple, Mausoleum and the death of countless adventures persons.

Log 1
To get to this cursed place, we traveled through rivers of open water between the ice for ages. Keeping a steady look at the ice or we won’t even reach the place and become one with the frozen ocean. We didn’t have a map, just the captain’s gut and some kind of old sailors talk. On a cloudless night look for a sparkling island. That is it, nothing more but the promise of untold riches. Riches my grumbling stomach cannot digest.

Log 2
As the captain’s promised we found the island of the Forgotten Frozen Temple. I am glad we made it since the captain promised to serve his guts literally for dinner. The thought itself managed to make my howling stomach to throw up.

We managed to walk over the ice towards the half sunken port. It actually was nice to have a walk and see some chests to loot in the hope of food. Our supply was dwindling by the day, even the rats themselves rationed to survive. Of course against better hope we only found frozen stuff and junk. Shame of our perilous fuel.

Log 3
After a nights rest near the port we went to climb towards the shaft. Rumors told of countless dead persons yet we did not come across a single skull or bone.

After a slippery climb marked by several stone pillars we reached the top. A look inside the shaft let me nearly fall into the depths by the sight. Skull’s and bones with red ice at the bottom smiling upwards with a broken stair.

After a haphazard climb and nearly dividing my own head with the rest of body through some beginners mistake (hey, I am scholar not an hiker!) I made it inside. Okay with something freezing up between my legs but those are some annoying minor details.

A first glance shows a burning crisping fire, riches of gold, some kind of shrine & several other pathways. As for the architecture it seems to be made of a natural cave carved out and reinforced by some kind of massive bones. On top of those support bones are glowing torches. Not our usual bright ones but dimmed ones that gives of a eerie red glow.

Log 4
Investigation
The gold shows several different coin currency, most going above my knowledge. The shrine directly next towards the shaft seems to be of some kind of barbaric sea-god. I did not went further in. Judging from some skulls it seems to be slippery down there.

Going in further reveals a tomb or mausoleum. Several plants and other trinkets are placed upon the death-men's bed. Architecture wise it seems to be of a different age, no supportive bones. Instead it is made inside the ocean, the walls are simply ice & you could see the sun getting through illuminating the room. Breath taking to say so.

The campfire was already lit and burning when we entered. Throughout my researchers the only thing close to an ever burning fire came from hell itself, the nether. Hell or not it managed to get rid of my stiff frozen feeling between the legs.

Around the camp were some boxes with tools and collected loot from a ill went expedition. To say so, lending a sleep-bag of the death were some bones went falling out by only picking up is not comforting.

Compared towards the entrance this shrine right in view was impressive. Several ender-dragon heads (darn you chunky-goggles!) with a lava-pit below. Besides the lava-pit were some rooms with exquisite items, even towards our today standards. Elytra, diamond armor, enchanting, nether, ender pearls. Only shame we couldn’t get it. Instead we left an offering.

The last room was only accessible by a small path through a probably blown up wall. Some TNT was left at camp for further excavation of the site.

It was another mausoleum, this time not only the person but also it’s ship. On top of it still stands the first-mate on look-out (again, darn you chunky-goggles). Several gold treasures lying around.

Log 5
To our conclusion, scholar-wise the most interesting journey but to put into my stomach perspective: the most terrible one to date & probably for-ever.

We did not find any edible food, the look inside the fellow party members shows incredible hunger. Discipline & faith towards the commands lessing by each our. The rats on board were all captured & eaten. For some reason my mates are looking at my scribbles. To eat? I don’t know but I got the feeling we become part of this forgotten temple.

Welcome towards my PMC monumental Temple contest entry. This time I decided to try something different with my description.

Sure, not required but I don't mind to get a link to the finished map you made with it.

Out of all the entries I've seen, this is the only one, I think, that focuses on the interiors more, and it looks amazing with it's good storytelling and backstory, which shows how every part of the temple has a meaning behind it. =D

Thank you. Since I didn't make this big, I had time to put more thought about the background and to fit things in.

This seems to be a smaller project in size, but highly detailed. I can't help it but the frozen cave setting reminds me of ruins beneath ice in Skyrim, usually accessible through such frozen caves. It's atmospheric. Also the attached story is cool.

Yes I did spend quite some time on the interior details. Was quite hard to capture in the screenshots.
I haven't thought about Skyrim while making it, but now you mention it. It does remind me of The Elder Scrolls games, which I played a lot in the past.
Thanks for the compliment of my story/description :-)

I'm always happy to see people actually modelling the interiors too. In case of this build it was necessary, since the great majority of the creation is an interior basically. But you know what I mean, it's a very widespread idea that building amazing exterior is perfectly enough, which I don't agree with. Although, it depends what the purpose of the build is, right? Some people print their mc stuff on a 3D printer and in that case a detailed interior is... pointless.

Yes, even the wooden ship almost screamed Skyrim, but of course it's just an unintentional resemblance ^^

That I try to do most of my time. It only takes quite a lot of build time. Hence one of the reasons my builds are getting smaller by the year. Lack of time/motivation for big ones.
Although I did focus the most on the interior in this build and found a suitable seed/world for it.

Depends, if it contains windows it would nice to see some interior. But I doubt that will be 3D printed.

I just remembered I based the ship inside the temple from a TESIII mission, similar setting.
