The Hermitage is a work in progress on Akintnude's SMP server. The idea is to have a fully functioning underwater complex that requires no trips to the surface for materials. The current complex spans between about half of a bay and is rapidly expanding out to the ocean. All rooms were built by laying down dirt to the dimension of the room I wanted, then surrounding the dirt 'form' in glass. When the dirt was removed I'd have a nice airtight room.

Current Rooms:

*Main Entrance: This is a dead drop from the skyhighway above. It's a 20-30 blocks drop so be careful :)

* Tree Farm: The biggest room right now, the trees provide most of the wood I need.: The torches ensure each sapling gets enough light

* Mine: The only unpaved area, the mine digs straight down below the ocean for the minerals I need

*Storeroom: The storage chests here are mainly filled with the dirt for more forms. The built up area behind it will lead to the workroom.

*Workroom: A crafting-specific room

*Hub: A runecrafted teleport pad that leads to the server's spawn area.

*Agri-farm: A large dirt area devoted to farming wheat and reeds. A row of cati has been planted as well, although I don't have a use for them yet.

* Runecasting room: (Missing on Minedraft) A special room for runecasting has been added to help seal off any accidental summonings...

* Submarine: About 10-20 blocks away from the hub you can see a submarine drifitng through the waters. The submarine uses a redstone repeater circuit to give it flashing running lights. While the submarine is pretty visible in game, I'm having trouble with the screen shot.

* Library: With over 300+ bookshelves present, the library is a perfect way to wile away the hours without having to deal with the surface above.

* Vault: Actually built under the ocean floor, this protected obsidian room hold my Iron/Gold blocks for display

*Art Gallery
*Observation posts
* More ocean objects

*Project was lsot after a server wipe. In it's final stages it encompassed most of a sea and had lookout tower of glass above the surface. Proved to be a great way to build and avoid greifers, but took a lot of effort. The vault was a horrible idea as knowledge of it inevitably leaked out.
