Started this on one day whilst sick and it's gotten pretty large ever since.
This is indeed the Island of Mata Nui from LEGO's BIONICLE, as well as my first wing at the program World Painter.
The Island itself is complete, save for structure and villages, which I will Happily ad for those who provide Schematics.
From the barren deserts, to the frozen tundras, to the densest of jungles and the murkiest of swamps to the searing lava of the great volcano itself, the project aims to add a little bit of Nostalgia to the adventurous Minecraftian treks of the average player.

A few suggestions by the way. To avoid chunk borders on the edge of the island, I would recommend changing the level.dat to be a flat ocean generator. Since the island IS on Aqua Magna, it both makes sense, and leaves room for Voya Nui to the south if you eventually choose to make it as well.
I also noticed when running the map through MCMap that there's a large circular indentation almost in the exact center of Po-Wahi about the size around of the Mangai's crater. Was this intentional? I don't remember seeing it on the original island. On that note, I would recommend looking at this map when plotting out the locations of the Koro, as your Ko-Koro site is WAY off. :P static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070720175518/bionicle/images/3/3e/Mata_Nui.jpg
Lastly, I noticed that the detail on the outer islands such as those surrounding the Papa Nihu Reef is a little lacking. Is this just because the map is still in progress, or is there some technical reason it couldn't have been replicated more exactly?
Here's the image I took with MCMap if you're interested. I also noticed an error in the water to the south. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/47112247/Mata%20Nui.png Careful, it's a 55mb png. Not for a slow computer. :P
