-Lore-
Long ago, in a forgotten region of the Mediterranean, the city of Atlantis thrived. However, this great civilization was about to come to a quick end. The only person to recognize this coming fate was an old man named Pleigones, who was the high priest of the Temple of Aetos. Pleigones, a crafty man, used his knowledge of science to trick the people into thinking that he was a deity. When Pleigones' knowledge of seismology and tectonics alerted him to the coming disaster, he decided to use the event to his advantage. He preached a message of doom and despair, claiming that the only ones who would survive would be those who gathered at the Temple of Aetos. Since the temple was located at the highest and safest point in the city, Pleigones knew that it would be the only structure to survive the coming disaster. However, the people of Atlantis scoffed at Pleigones, and none of them listened to him. When that fateful day came, all of Atlantis except the Temple of Aetos sank into the Mediterranean Sea. Pleigones was the only surviving citizen of Atlantis. Stranded on the ruins of his formerly great temple, Pleigones soon died, a troubled and forgotten man. Thus, the great city of Atlantis came to an end. The only remnant is the ruined Temple of Aetos, which stands like a pillar in the middle of the sea. Many years later, a sailor was shipwrecked in the Mediterranean Sea. After swimming for miles, he discovered the temple, which was then a decrepit ruin ruin located atop a rocky island. The sailor discovered a cave on the island and lived there for the rest of his life, subsiding on fruit and berries that grew on the island. Thus, our tale comes to an end.
-Details-
Hey there! This my entry of for the PMC Chunk Challenge. It is a Greek-styled temple located on a rocky island. I really tried to pack in as much detail as could. For instance, I attempted to use grass and ferns as vines and leaves. To make my build even more interesting, I used some custom player heads from Elweyr's amazing head collection and from minecraft-heads.com. I am also really proud of the eagle statue; I think it adds in a nice touch.
