Hello everyone.
This is my version of the lonely mountain and Erebor, with the town of dale outside. It is currently in the pre-alpha release but I thought i would go ahead and announce my intentions to build this. This is such a large project I fully expect this project to take several months, if not longer. This based mostly on The Hobbit movies but also uses the book. This will not be an exact copy since I have my own building style it will be different.

The mountain is currently the only part of the project is done.

To do:
  • Erebor interior
  • Erebor Entrance
  • Dale
  • Landscapes
  • Custom forests
  • Aesthetics

The Project will be available for download once it is between 40% - 50% done. By that time the town of dale should be mostly or completely done.

welcome my fellow competitor ;) I've been working on Erebor as well for sometime now. You can check mine. I think your mountain is too small, because of minecraft hight limits you won't be able to fit all of Erebor inside a normal looking mountain. Eventually you'll need to expand it to fit the front gate and all of the interior.

The picture could only get part of the mountain in it even with an extended range. This is about 20% of the entire mountain. I am aware that I will have to extend the height of the are where the entrance will be and possibly the river size but I believe that Erebor will fit inside it, or at least a versio of it. If not then I will save the town and paste it on a new map with a bigger mountain. This mountain tookk between 7 and 11 hours to make sinse I have already resized it. this version is betwwen 3 and 5 times larger than the original

always excited to see another erebor build appear! i'm extremely curious about the direction you'll take this. tip though: don't build the entire mountain first; give yourself a nice, large, cuboid of space and then do the final terraforming around it.

can't wait to see what you come up with!

i already made most of the mountain alll that is left is a bit of smoothing and some cleanup around te edges and peak to make it look better. Im saving that until the end thoughsince im focusing on Dale and Erebor first

looks nice but you should try to smooth all of this round things out to get a nicer mounain
