Introduction
Greetings and welcome to my latest map, welcome to The Realm of Narthelleth!
I am thrilled to present to you my newest creation, filled with exciting new features and breathtaking landscapes. Whether you're a seasoned explorer or a curious newcomer, there's something for everyone to discover on this map. Narthelleth presented a unique task for me since the main requirement of the Terraforming challenge hosted by ThisIsWaffleBoi was to create a small, yet interesting map.
Description of Narthelleth
The mightiest mountain in all of Narthelleth, Elerína, rises up at the heart of the land, its main peak pierces the clouds while four towering pillars surround it. Treacherous slopes and rough-hewn surfaces only add to its awe-inspiring beauty, and in the light of the rising sun, Elerína blushes with rosy hues.
In the very North, the world is cloaked in ice and snow. Behold, the towering snowy mountains that pierce the sky like icy spears, their peaks forever bathed in the frosty mist! Below the mountains lie the windswept hills, where the winds howl and the trees stand strong. The taiga and old-growth forests whisper secrets in the icy breeze, and the chill air is filled with the scent of pine.
But lo, not all is ice and snow in this land. For beyond the dense woods of pine and spruce stretch the plains, where the grasses sway in the breeze and the sun beats down upon the earth. Meadows filled with wildflowers dot the landscape, and the birds sing sweetly in the trees of oak and birch.
To the northeast lies the bay of Nixë, where the ice spreads out as far as the eye can see, and the ships of men dare not venture. And to the east, the bay of Nimrodelas, where the lush vegetation surrounds the water like a cloak, and the air is filled with the scent of blooming flowers.
Going from the northern parts to the southern regions, the jungle reigns supreme and the earth is full of mystery. See the verdant jungle, thick with vines and teeming with life. Mighty trees rise up to the heavens, their boughs alive with the chatter of monkeys and the calls of exotic birds. In the highlands, the jungle gives way to the bamboo jungle, where the tall, slender stalks rustle in the breeze like the whispering of a thousand tongues. The sparse jungle beyond is a place of dappled sunlight and delicate ferns, a realm of quiet beauty.
But not all is lush and green in this land, for the savanna stretches further down to the South, a land of wide open spaces and tall grasses that whisper in the wind. Beyond the savanna, the dry mountains rise up like a wall, their peaks harsh and rugged.
The badlands stretch out like a sea of stone, their craggy peaks and jagged cliffs a testament to the cruel passage of time. But amidst the barren desolation, the badland towers rise up, as if defying the gods themselves.
Further still lies the desert, a place of harsh sun and burning sand, where only the hardiest of creatures can survive. And yet, even here, the land holds its secrets, for the beaches that border the western shores are a place of melancholy, where the waves lap gently at the sand.
And in the west lies the bay of Eärfalas, a place of tranquility, where the sea meets the land in a gentle embrace, and the setting sun paints the sky in shades of gold and crimson.
Map Information
The foundation of The Realm of Narthelleth was created in World Machine. I created the main heightmap and the following assets using various nodes and terrain adjustments. If you want to learn more about the program and how to use it, you can check the link listed down below that will lead you to their official site.
The rest of my work was done in WorldPainter. I refined the heightmap, added different types of terrain and materials, and implemented various layers (vegetation, caves, frost, rivers...). There are some issues (as always), but overall I think it ended up looking pretty good.
TERMS OF USE: You may not use The Realm of Narthelleth for commercial purposes. You may not distribute modified material as your own creation. You are free to use it for various things such as playthroughs, creative building and servers (it would be nice if you would provide appropriate credit and a link to this site).

Final notes
This work wouldn't be possible without useful information from the WorldPainter subreddit and PMC website. Although I would consider myself to be quite knowledgeable in the ways of map-making, there is still enough room for improvement. The Realm of Narthelleth (as well as my other maps) is far from perfect and I would be glad to hear your thoughts and critiques on it. I'm still learning how to use World Machine and WorldPainter properly so any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you for taking the time to check it out! I hope you like it!

Here's a heightmap of The Realm of Narthelleth if someone wants it.

Although Narthelleth contains every type of ore and a vast number of materials, I would not recommend it for survival mode since it has no vanilla structures. However, players can always go beyond the map border to the regular Minecraft world if they desire. One of the main characteristics of this map is its diverse range of biomes. I have tried to incorporate every single overworld biome type and variation into it. Although there are many websites that list all the different types of biomes, I chose Minecraft Wiki because it has always been a reliable source. If the list is correct, there should be 52 biomes present on Narthelleth.landscape

Update #1 Bedrock Edition : by Telcontar 06/25/2023 10:28:04 amJun 25th, 2023
The Realm of Narthelleth is now also available for Bedrock Edition (version 1.19.70+). There are some chunk problems with the vanilla world beyond the Void border, but it seems that the custom map is intact and ported to Bedrock successfully. If there are some other problems with the map, let me know.
