This is ancient roman themed city named Vespasianum(mid/late empire period) I am currently working on. It is based on roman and greek cities. Inner walled part of the city will be finished after few weeks, then I will start to work on outskirts. Texture pack used is Romecraft by Stugace, with few textures modified for better effect(sandstone for example). Currently there are 32 buildings in the city.
City is quite massive, covering about 250x160 blocks. In the inner city are located many resident buildings of two types, large domii(for middle classes) and insulae(for low classes), some of them rising up to 25-30 blocks height. It can look quite oversized, but residential buildings of that size were common in ancient rome. Domii can seem quite oversized(5 floors on 25 block height, but I think high ceilings for higher mid classes are fine, the Domus Major buildings are based on Caesar IV ones of same type with similar floor-height ratio.)
Also, because everyone builds coloseums and arenas, I decided to build roman theater, because it is more original. Teatro Livio in the city is recreation of Teatro Marcello in minecraft, with realistic interior.
There are currently 3 major temples in the city - Templum Juppiterium(largest), Templum Junonium(quite smaller than Templum Iuppiterium), and Templum Martium(minor). There is also minor shrine of home gods.Significant buildings(not including domus major and insula major buildings) in the city what are built, are being built, and will be built are:
Aqueduct - partially finished(currently about 60 blocks long, will be longer when outer parts of city will be finished)
Academia - finished
Archery range - in construction
Basilica - finished
Baths(Thermae) - finished(just add few columns snapped to walls and divide baths to parts)
City Walls - finished(largest structure of the city. About 800 - 900 blocks long, 11 blocks high, towers are about 22 blocks high)
Hot Air Baloon - finished
Military barracks complex - in construction
Military hipodrome - in construction
Palace - finished
Senate building - finished
Temple of Ceres - finished(minor temple, without statue)
Temple of Jupiter - finished(highest construction in city, about 50 blocks high)
Temple of Juno - finished
Shrine - finished
Theater of Livius - finished(can hold more than 1000 spectators)
Triumphal Arch - finished(15 blocks high)
Triumphal Column - finished(second highest structure, more than 40 blocks high)
Water Tank - finished (can hold up to 2000 m3 of water)
In the city is also located minor subway system, with stations at the front gates, the Baths, and near the Senate.
This is now downloadable. You can use this in servers, videos and movies, but please give credit.
Enjoy this build!
