Hello Everyone,
This set of builds was inspired by the custom map it sits on and made mainly for the Nvidia Contest.
Although i wasnt able to finish this project fully i still want to present it to everyone and continue working on it.
For this Project i started with my main idea of having a Magic artifact floating over a whole in the water. This turned into a Black and gold crystal floating over a water basin and being chained to the surrounding wall towers.
Then to add more story to this main build i wanted to create an old castle that once belonged to a kingdom of mages and worshipers of this crystal, that was then beaten and destroyed in a war by the protector kingdom that now has a little village outpost to watch over the crystal and make sure no one will ever use its magic again.
So these three builds are supposed to tell this story from its present state, with the castle being just a ruin that continues to be striped for its resources by the people now living in the small village, who watch over and protect the crystal from anyone wanting to use and abuse its magic.
I will keep working on this and when it is complete there will also be more detailed posts for each of the builds.
This Crystal was originally just floating over the sea creating a whole in the seabed with its magic. After the war and the defeat of the Kingdom that worshiped this crystal, the crystals magic was sealed with the Structure and chains now holding it in place. The structure as created by the protector Kingdom, as indicated by their use of materials and the chains were made from the castle ruins of the mage kingdom because they share magical properties with the crystal.
This village was created by the protector kingdom after the war. It is used as an outpost to watch over the crystal and was the kingdoms base of operation while constructing the holding structure around the crystal. The tower in the back of the village is a repurposed remnant of the Mage kingdom. The walls that surround this village were created using magic and represent an Extension of the cliff that surrounds the village. The buildings were constructed from a combination of materials from the castle ruin and resources brought by the protector kingdom.
This castle was the main stronghold of the mage kingdom and constructed using the crystals magic by pulling structures from the ground the resemble the natural basalt formations around volcanic areas. Its towers and walls were damaged in the war and have been steadily striped for resources after the war. Now these ruines only represent a portion of the castles former glory, but still tower over the desolate landscape surrounding it.

So here we go with the first Update, as promised.
To connect the Castle and the Village together i am adding ports and paths connecting everything. These will show the transport route of the salvaged materials that were used to build the village. This first Part of that is the Port belonging to the Village.
This port has two Docks and a valley area where the material is being stored until is was used to build the village. The way up into the village has collapsed by now and is now only a small walkway to get down to the Port. Also right by the entrance to the village is a little supply hut with a fireplace and table space for the workers to take a break.

i wish i could have finished it by the end of the contest with all the little details and world building, but that will take me some more time
