The Second Battle of Geonosis

The Second Battle of Geonosis, also known as the battle of Geonosis and invasion of Geonosis, took place in 21 BBY during the Clone Wars on the planet Geonosis, which had also served as the site of the conflicts opening battle. The battle began when the Galactic Republic launched a full-scale planetary invasion of Geonosis in an attempt to cease the operation of several battle droid factories constructed by the Geonosian Archduke, Poggle the Lesser.
