So, well... Here's a creation of mine, a fully automatic sugar cane farm that works with slimeblocks, and can produce a lot of resources, in a quite inexpensive setup (the basic version can produce up to 500 items per hour)
The farm operates on a sweeping slimeblock mechanism, that consists of a set of pistons that push a row of slimeblocks from one end to the other. It also uses a new concepts for sugarcane farms: instead of requiring to use ice to prevent water from upfating, it stops the flow with open fencegates, that let hopper minecarts go through.
