Introduction-
Originally created by Hypixel seven years ago, this "The Walls" map pays homage to the beautiful simple design of this timeless minigame. I created this remastered version with the intent to give player's a more enjoyable and modern experience to Hypixel's game.
What is it?-
"The Walls" is a multiplayer, pvp minigame that takes place in four different corners of a set map. Each on of those corners is a different team, and each one is exactly identical to the other team's corners (so no one corner has an advantage). Each team has a set amount of time to gather resources before the walls fall. Once the walls fall, death becomes permanent and the last team standing wins! The game can be played with up to 4 different teams (not including the spectator team), and an unlimited amount of people on each team.
The Rules-
There are very few rules in the game...
1. No breaking the concrete powder walls
2. No ghosting
3. No going into alternate dimensions
4. There must be at least 2 teams (not including spectator) for the game to start, and make sure that everyone is on a team before starting as well!
5. You will respawn in your team's corner when you die before the walls fall
...and that's it!
There is also another copy of the rules in-game to see as well.
What makes this "remastered"?-
When "The Wall's" minigame was originally created, there were no command blocks whatsoever. Everything was done by redstone. With the introduction of command blocks, many quality-of-life and gameplay changes are now available to us, such as...
1. A scoreboard system with active team standings
2. Automatic resetting of the map in between games, instead of having to redownload the world
3. Automatic "time remaining" options through chat
4. The introduction of spectator mode
5. The introduction of a lag-less wall dropping with the /fill command. Before the sand would fall and cause tons of lag, giving players with better computers an unfair advantage. This also removes the possibility of players falling into the void due to trying to jump through the falling sand. This lag-less drop also allows for the play corners to be bigger.
6. Adjustable, in-game timer with 5 different preset times (15, 20, 30, 45, and 60 minutes)
Why create this?
I created this map with the intentions of allowing modern players to enjoy the brilliance of Hypixel's minigames. I love playing "The Wall's" with my own friends, and I thought I would take a crack at creating my own version. I'm sure if the Hypixel team redid their own maps they would be a thousand times better than mine. But nonetheless, this map is fun and functional. Seasoned players of "The Walls" will probably find a few Easter eggs hidden in the map as well :)

Update 1.2- Balance Changes and QOL : by Catalyst1 12/27/2020 6:58:31 amDec 27th, 2020
A few balance changes and quality of life changes...
- Changed the tee hee sword in the middle from Sharpness lvl 5 to Sharpness lvl 20.
~ As it was, it wasn't doing enough damage to properly incentive players to go to the middle.
~ With full iron armor it should do 6 hearts of damage with a critical instead of 3 hearts.
- Changed the Projectile Protection III enchanted book to a Multishot enchanted book
~ This should give incentive to use Crossbows, and also gives more uses to use the gunpowder for rockets.
- Changed some blocks on the middle bridges to represent the color of the corner the player is looking at.
~ After the walls fell, it was hard to tell which corner was which color. These blocks should help fix that.
- Properly fixed the Win detection system.
~ It should no longer display "No One Wins" after any team wins the game.
- Made it impossible to start the game without every player being on a team.
~ The game doesn't function properly if not everyone is on a team.
~ Removes edge case where someone could join the game after the game begins and restart the game.

Good job man, brought back some good memories of playing the original the walls map.
The "game winning" system is based off of who is in survival mode, so if you're in survival mode in the lobby and join a team, the game doesn't know not to count that as a win, so if pressing the "set up game" button doesn't work, try setting everyone's gamemode to Adventure before joining teams.
