"Oh what a day.. what a lovely day!"
The Wastelands are dry and unforgiving. From the cracked pits in the middle of dunes to bare hills which have been torn apart by sandstorms, this desert is as tough as any desert could be - and if it's harsh conditions don't kill you there will always be it's mad denizens, ready to rip you apart in an instant, all shiny and chrome.
Deserts are always tough, but the dried-up Australia depicted in the Mad Max universe? Even tougher. I've always found creating deserts difficult; I know they're supposed to be bare but I've never felt like I've captured it well. In truth, the actual map I was attempting to make was a normal desert to challenge myself but after I tweaked a few things I realised I had the perfect base to expand upon, ultimately leading to this creation. I've used cyan stone colouring quite a bit and a fair few custom brushes, some of which turned out really well. I've been a fan of the Mad Max franchise for quite a while and with the game and the new film the wasteland has become vivid and full of life once more. Witness me.
