TIDE is a survival island custom map with challenge and story elements. It was inspired by Ashien's original Survival Island map as well as the movie "Cast Away."
THE TIDE
Occasionally, packages will wash up on shore. Depending on what the sender was shipping, you may be in for a short spike in survival chance. You will need to return to the beach every so often to see if anything new has washed up that you can use.
THE SURFACE
The island is called "Mineriki" island, which is a 1:1 scale recreation of Monuriki island, the filming location for "Cast Away." Mineriki is overgrown and untouched by people... until you find yourself stranded there.

THE UNDERGROUND
The cave system is entirely custom made, very interconnected and very complex. The cave features from Minecraft version 1.18 have been brought back to 1.17.1 in this map and are used extensively.
CHALLENGE MECHANICS
Many changes have been made to game mechanics and world generation to provide unique challenges.
-The island is comprised mainly of andesite, not stone. Usable stone is rare.
-Large animals do not spawn, as the tiny island is in the middle of the ocean. The food and resources they provide can be obtained in other ways, but are rare.
-Saplings are rare. Your impact on the island will be noticeable.
-Grass does not drop wheat seeds.
-Ore is much more rare.
-Boats cannot be crafted.
CUSTOM MECHANICS
The map includes a custom datapack that takes care of many of these features. Removing the datapack will break all functionality of the map. Type /datapack enable "file/Tide" if you don't start on the plane.
-Bats and parrots drop their meats.
-Coconuts can be found on palm trees, but they are limited in supply and cannot be farmed. Placing a coconut down allows you to eat it or harvest it with a sharp tool.
-Spears (tridents) are easily accessible and crafted with sticks.
-Ore deposits, dungeons, and other resource stocks are hidden all over the island, high and low.
-Achievements and XP are given for certain discoveries.
-Packages wash up on the east beach.

STORY ELEMENTS
-There are some narrative elements involved with getting onto and off of the island, as well as a few triggered events on the island itself.
-Getting off the island is possible through a few different conditions. Which condition you achieve will depend on your playstyle. Once you achieve one of these conditions, you are still free to continue surviving on the island.
RULES
-Do not try to escape the island until you can craft a boat.
-DO NOT USE /TIME COMMANDS. They will break the map.
-DO NOT USE /KILL COMMANDS. They will also break the map. Other commands and cheats will ruin your experience as well.
-Do what you want with the KeepInventory gamerule. I don't know what's more enjoyable for each player, but the map starts with it off.
-Don't make a nether portal. One is provided.
-Use Minecraft version 1.17.1 (1.18 will work but going below y=0 is cheating)
-Single or multiplayer (enable datapack and command blocks)
TIPS
-Check the east beach regularly. (The south facing beach closest to the spawn point 0,0)
-Develop a system to not get lost in the caves.
-Make paths on the surface to traverse the island more efficiently.
-Type /datapack enable "file/Tide" if you don't start on the plane
CHALLENGE LIST (SPOILERS!)
I also made "Wayward Wonders" a while back. It's on curseforge and minecraftforum, and there are a bunch of lets plays on youtube as well.

I'm not aware of anything that breaks the maps functionality in terms of command blocks or datapacks.
If I learn of an easy/efficient way to prevent the extra cave generation, I'll consider it.
1. Make sure command blocks and cheats are enabled in the configuration.
2. In game type this -> /datapack list
It should say [vanilla (built-in)], [file/Tide (world)]
If it says Tide is available but not enabled then type this -> /datapack enable "file/Tide"
If it doesn't say Tide at all we can try zipping the datapack, but let's see what's happening first.
