So this is a project a long time coming. I actually started it over two years ago, but it sat abandoned for a long while. I finally got around to finishing it.
Kasm is a small, medieval town whose central feature is a small canyon. Built into the walls of said canyon are a dozen or so homes and businesses, some extending up to five stories beneath the earth. Tall watch-towers and sturdy walls protect the inner town, and two sturdy gatehouses offer access. Around the fortified canyon are numerous small farms. A tiny harborage - mostly for fisherman - squats between the castle-like canyon and the shore of the nearby lake. In the distance, a windmill offers the town a method of turning wheat into flour.
This isn't my best project, but I think it came out pretty well. It all started when I came across one of those procedurally-generated canyons that dot the landscape. It occurred to me that such a location might be a fine place for a town, a sort of medieval Anasazi cliffside-village. From the start, I had a rather clear vision of what the end-result would look like: tall towers on each end, walls around the chasm, an almost 3D maze-like interior with lots of ramps, bridges and balconies, and low out-buildings and farms surrounding. The end result matched that vision fairly well, even if it did take me overlong to finally get there.
For technical reasons, I wasn't able to cut-n-paste any buildings used in previous projects; therefore, every building in this map is unique, although they all share a similar style as found in previous designs I have posted here. The project is mostly complete; it could do with some more greebles and most of the building interiors are unfurnished. However, the majority of the construction is done.
No download yet - MCEdit and other map editors haven't quite caught up to the latest version Minecraft so I can't export the schematic - but once they do I'll add a link.
The project was built using Minecraft v1.14, the John Smith Legacy Reource Pack and Sildurs Vibrant Shaders v1.23 Extreme.
If you like this design, please check out sone of my other projects, such as the Walled Medieval Town, the Island Castle, my Motte & Bailey Castle, the Hillside Home, the Hill Manor or any of my other dozen-plus designs and shared assets.
