Estructura:


El acceso a las vías se realiza a través de un amplio recibidor.

El edificio de viajeros de la estación se divide en planta baja más planta uno.


En la planta baja, se encuentran los accesos a la estación, a través de un gran recibidor central.


Los andenes se hallan al aire libre, cubiertos por una gran marquesina ondulada.

Vías y andenes

La estación cuenta con un total de tres andenes:


Andén 1. Posee una vía en ancho ibérico (vía 1). Es el más cercano al acceso de la estación.

Andén 2. Una vía en ancho ibérico (vía 2) y otra recientemente cambiada en ancho internacional (vía 3) para el estacionamiento de los servicios de alta velocidad.

Entre los andenes 2 y 3, existen 2 vías en ancho ibérico pasantes, las cuales ha sido migrada a ancho internacional con motivo de la llegada de la LAV.


Andén 3. Tiene vía montada en ancho internacional con motivo de la llegada del AVE, se encuentra en fase de construcción y acondicionamiento.

En la salida norte de la estación de Burgos se ha construido un cambiador de ancho de vía Dual modelo TCRS3 Talgo/CAF que servirá para que los servicios Alvia de ancho Variable que utilizen el Tramo de Alta Velocidad Venta de Baños-Burgos puedan continuar su recorrido por la línea convencional actual hacia Euskadi.
