After a couple hours in Minecraft (and fifteen minutes in MCEdit) this sugarcane monstrosity was complete. It uses observers to automatically break sugarcane into water tunnels.
This design can create ~2500 sugar cane per minute. This is only because randomTickSpeed was set to 1 for lag purposes (default is 3). Be aware of lag when starting the world.
This was made out of boredom, but it's still really cool. This took inspiration from Mumbo Jumbo's "Too Small" series.
