USS Archerfish (SS-311) is one of the Balao-class submarines built by the United States Navy. She was the first U.S. Navy ship named after an archerfish. She began construction at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on January 22, 1943, was launched on May 28, 1943, and entered service on September 4, 1943. Her main achievement was the sinking of the Shinano aircraft carrier in 1944.
