The modernized version of the USS Intrepid.
The USS Intrepid (CV 11) AKA the fighting "I" was a US Essex Class aircraft carrier launched in 1943. She served in The Pacific Theatre of World War II, notably in the Battle of Okinawa. After the war in the 50s she was modernized, and would serve in Vietnam for seven months. In 1974, Intrepid was decommissioned for the final time, and in 1976 was moored in Philadelphia. In 1982 she moved one last tme to New York City and sits there still as a museum ship.
It is a great museum that I plan on visiting soon! I also recommend it to any of you, they have several planes and (I think) a space shuttle!
