The USS Ranger (CV-4) was the first ship designed from the keel up to be an aircraft carrier. The original plans did not include the island, but it was added during construction. It was built in 1931, and launched in 1933. She was relatively small, especially compared to later aircraft carriers. When world war two began, she was put in service in the atlantic fleet. She was the flagship of the atlantic fleet carriers, consisting of her along with the USS Wasp (CV-7), another unique carrier. She took part in operation torch, and toward the end of the war she crossed through the Panama canal and joined the pacific fleet. She was in the pacific at the end of the war.
Ranger was the only carrier to never take part in battle in the Pacific against japan.
She was sold for scrap in 1947.

Ranger would not have fit such modenizations and as such she was scrapped in 1947.
I just try to represent her as if she was not broken up and continued service to now anyways :)
Good job !
