This is a WW2 Gato class subamarine named the USS Wahoo. The Wahoo was commisioned in 1942 and built by Mare Island Naval Yard. The Wahoo was very sucessful earning a GRT of 69,000, though on the 10th of September 1942 it its was sunk by a Japenese aircraft.
