What is Uzhdansk?

Uzhdansk is a fictional city, somewhere around the Ural mountains (Near Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk). It is built around the river Uzhda, which is also fictional, and incorporates into itself multiple "Rayons" (anglicized to "Regions").

-The map is huge. It is roughly 30,000 x 30,000 blocks, with a lot of that space planned to be an urban city environment.
-As of 09/03/2021, actual building has halted, as I am making a better road plan. The plan will then be used in Minecraft. Building will resume once the roads are complete. Since I am still in college and cannot build every day, I expect that the roads will take well over a month to do. I have not taken on such big projects before, so maybe I'm underestimating the difficulty of creating all this.
-I am the only builder on this map, and it is going to stay this way, as I do not have any friends who build in a similar style to mine, and none who are Russian. I have a very specific vision for this map.
-I have included an image of the Regions and the current road plan at the end. The road plan is not finished yet and is quite rough, so expect updates or even complete changes to it.
-Any feedback on what you see will be greatly appreciated, especially on things such as the road plan. Keep in mind that the map is around 30k X 30k blocks.

The Regions of Uzhdansk (Anglicized names in brackets):

Tsentralniy Rayon (Central Region)
-The very center of the city, which actually isn't geographically in the center but is called that for some reason. You will find all the nicest places right here. The Uzhdansk State Theater of Opera and Ballet is one of the main attractions, along with the Stalin-era skyscrapers that are scattered around the area. The river Uzhda runs through the middle of the Region. Izumrudnaya River splits off from the main river and forms the Izumrudniy Island (Emerald Island), which the locals often call "America", referring to its shape which somewhat resembles South America. On the southern tip of the island is the Uzhdansk International Business Center, which is home to more than 10 multi-purpose skyscrapers and residential towers. Parks, plazas and a small spruce forest can be found here, albeit the forest is part of a residential complex, which requires a special pass to enter. This region is known for its wide Prospekts and the vast variety of architectural styles, ranging from Neoclassical, Constructivist and Brutalist, to Elizabethan and Naryshkin Baroque and Stalinist. Central Region is by far the most touristic area of the city.

Leninskiy Rayon (Lenin Region)
-This is perhaps one of the more diverse regions of the city. In the north-west, it borders the Central Region, and boasts some nice expensive areas. In the west it is also quite nice, with architecture similar to that of St. Petersburg. To the south, however, you will feel the ominous presence of Kirov Region, with the many factories and gray apartment blocks.

Kalininskiy Rayon (Kalinin Region)
-Also known as the "Second Centre", this region is known for its four islands in the north-east, which are informally called "Old Uzhdansk". The prevailing architectural styles on the islands would be the Russian Baroques, eclectic and neoclassical styles. Old Uzhdansk is often compared to St. Petersburg, with its narrow streets, embankments and bridges. Because of this, Kalinin Region is the second most visited by tourists, after Central Region. However, the spirit of St.Petersburg is only really felt on the western bank of Uzhda. The eastern bank is much more similar to the Soviet Region, or Lenin Region.

Yugo-Zapadniy Rayon (South-Western Region)
-A pretty average area with a small border with Central Region. There are some nice areas, such as the Monument of Glory, which is a large park with a memorial dedicated to the fallen of the Great Patriotic War. The eternal flame is always on. Karl Marx square is perhaps the closest thing there is to a center of the area, and there are many shopping centers and cafes there. The region is clean overall, but some air pollution is present in the north, where it borders the Soviet Region.

Sovietskiy Rayon (Soviet Region)
-A fairly industrialized area, close to the center. In the south-east are the TETs-2 and TETs-3 power plants. Nicer areas to the north and north-east, where the region borders the Spruce Region and Central Region.

Zayeltsovkiy Rayon (?Spruce? Region)
-The region is called this due to the large spruce forest that takes up most of the region. Industry is kept to a minimum here. Luxury settlements are scattered all over the area, and the rich enjoy spending their time here. The region borders South-Western, Soviet, Central, and Volhov Regions in the south / south-east, but in the north it is only bordered by seemingly endless nature. Zayeltsovskiy Park and Uzhdansk Zoo are the main two attractions of the region, and many come for the zoo from all over the country.

Volhovskiy Rayon (Volhov Region)
-Very basic region on the outskirts of the city. In the north, on the western bank of the river, it is mainly forest and parks, with little urban development. However, the rest of the region is largely made up of average Brezhnev-era apartment blocks with not much to explore. The area is not really industrialized, and so there isn't much pollution from factories. However, with recent developments of new apartment blocks, the area is left with less and less space, and traffic is becoming a serious problem, causing noise-pollution even at night, and air pollution from car fumes

Ordinskiy Rayon (Ordin Region)
-Used to be part of Kirov Region, but was formed into its own thing when the area of present-day Kirov Region began industrializing rapidly, with the area soon becoming heavily built up with apartment blocks, while Ordin Region stayed quite rural. Without a doubt, the most rural region of the city. It has barely any industry developed, and most people live in 1-storey village houses, with the exception of a couple urban residential areas on the borders of Kirov and South-Western Regions. The Ordin Highway is essentially the most important part of the Ordin Region, as it is one of the 5 main exits out of the city, and is the only one that leads to the south. The region borders Verh-Tula to the south, which is a fairly large village with a population of 6010 people according to the 2015 census.

Kirovskiy Rayon (Kirov Region)
-Before the early 2000s, Kirov Region used to include the area of present-day Ordin Region. However, as the area started to become more and more built up and industrialized, it was decided that Ordin would become a region of its own. This region is by far the most industrial of the city, and because of this, it is quite polluted. The most factories and apartment blocks are in the north, with the south being a mixture of urban residences and suburban areas. The area was incorporated into the city in the late 1980s, with plans for heavy industrialization quickly put into place. However, after the fall of the USSR, the area was practically abandoned by the local government. The region produced nothing, and so it was of no importance. Only in the late 1990s and early 2000s did the area start to expand industrially. To this day, the region keeps its bad reputation. Perhaps the pollution that came with the factories only made things worse.

-The map is nowhere near completion. It is being built by only 1 person (me), and I don't spend 24/7 building. I can't even give an estimate for when the map might be completed, or even when there might be a download available. It's just way too early yet.

Heya, there is no download available at the moment, and I don't think there will be for a while still since the map is planned to be very big. Thank you for subscribing though! I will do a fairly big update quite soon.
