the s class was built by Victorian railways as long distance passenger and freight trains. they have a single end streamlined cab with a rear cab that is for reversing. in recent years they have been bought by freight companys or in S313s case rented to different freight company's. S313 is the only s class that has been preserved with the first 4 s class locos(S300-S303) all took up the names of the S class steam trains(all scrapped when the B class arrived)
