The North American XF-108 Rapier was a proposed High-Altitude Supersonic Interceptor from the 1950's, related in development to the XB-70 Valkyrie. The XF-108 was a twin-engine interceptor, using two General Electric YJ93 Afterburning engines (the same used in the XB-70). The program was cancelled in 1956 due to budget and political difficulties.
