Server comments: The Bluejay Network is a charming, small network with great potential. It only has 2 servers at the moment, a Semi-OP Prison server and a Survival server. The network uses a custom resource pack to give you a fresh look to the server, but this is mostly, if not all, used on the Survival server.





The Semi OP Prison server is about what you would expect, a prison server. You mine blocks, get money, and then sell that money to rank up to the top rank, and finally prestige and start all over again. Plots are also present. There are, however, some custom features, such as a custom enchantment system, only a select few mines (6 main mines, 4 "tutorial" mines from A - D ranks) with diverse themes. Where it falls short, however, is it's incomplete feel. Compared to the Survival server (more on that soon), it feels like the server was meant to have more content, but ended up falling short of it's original goal. The tutorial area feels way too big in my opinion, and looks somewhat outdated. Hardly any of the network's custom resource pack is used. The custom enchants are about what you would expect, nothing special. The only truly unique custom feature I found on the server, was the Boss system. I do commend the server though for being a Semi-OP Prison server, which is a rarity in itself.



Verdict: If you like OP Prison servers, but don't like the craziness of them, or want a more Classic Prison server feel with some extra stuff added on top, this is a good server for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend playing it.

The Survival Server, however, is where the server shines. The server is Japanese themed, and when you spawn in for the first time, you are given a short, linear, but informative tutorial about the basic features of the server. You then naturally walk into the spawn, which is a beautiful, well-crafted Japanese village. In my opinion, the spawn is a little bit too big, but it is made up for with good details. There are many NPCs to talk to, several quests to undertake as you play through the game, and my favorite, an in-game ranking system which uses McMMO skill levels, playtime, and the in-game currency of "Coins". They, at the time of writing this, have 3 worlds, the "Sunlight" world, a Nether world, and a End world (the latter two can only be accessed after you rank up to Level 3) They also plan to open a "Moonlight" world upon the release of 1.17. My final thoughts are on the custom resource pack. The server has custom rank tags, custom emojis, even custom icons for Shops and NPCs. The Survival server features a claiming system, where you can claim blocks for yourself and add people to your claim so they can build alongside you. Greifing is not tolerated.



The Verdict: I would highly recommend this server as a potential first-timer to Minecraft Survival servers. While there are a few flaws that need to be kinked out, they are merely cosmetic and don't effect the gameplay.
