Welcome to Ancient Shores, the real way to mix up SP with SMP. Not interested in creative servers, or servers that either do not provide enough RP, or way too much of it? This should be the server for you. Towny for making grief free zones, wilderness for resource gathering, pvp, participating in an economy where players can affect it as they see fit.
This is a medium roleplay server, where the aim is to focus on the community of dedicated players, a rich history, and developing a better multiplayer Minecraft experience.
Minecraft is all about having fun, without paying. We want to offer that to all players. Many servers provide "donator perks", and while we do plan to have some donator perks, they won't be making any game changing perks like many other servers do, but those will be discussed in the future. We want to make most of those perks available to non-donators as well in game, but, if you want it you would need to work hard, to earn it.
We are making this for you guys, not for ourselves.
Construction
he Construction class is for the architecturally gifted. Most survivors build structures, from simple homes to farms, but few excel at it. This class is for those few who see a mountainside or some coast and don't simply see land, but what could rise from it.

Economics
The Economics class are for those profit-driven survivors, who want to take there assets and turn it into cold, hard cash, and make that cash work for them. They will drive enormous projects through funding and influence the economy.
Rank 1: Merchant - Rank 2: Shopkeeper - Rank 3: Marketer - Rank 4: Entrepreneur - Rank 5: CEO
Labor
The Labor class is for those survivors who toil away on mines, digging up miles of desert, and raze entire forests. Without them, Merchants would have little to sell and Builders would have little to construct with. Overseeing massive excavations and deforestation, Laborers can work with merchants and builders to achieve fortune and glory.

Political
The Political class is for those survivors who strive for power. They decide the direction of towns, the fate of nations, they lead us into the future on our new world.

The PVP class is a non progression-state class which any player can have 1 combat specialization along with their profession class.

Archer
Skilled in long range attacks, the archer is a mainstay of any standing army here. Since manufacturing firearms would require too many resources, archery has seen a major revival in combat tactics. Archers have even begun experimenting with different types of arrows to deal with hostile wildlife and criminals.
Assassin
Assassins use guile and deception to move in close to their target without detection and strike. Masters of stealth, parkour and close quarters combat, they attack with little or no warning and vanish without a trace.
Battlemage
The battlemage combines ancient combat and the arcane arts into a deadly combination. They are able to disarm opponents, toss enemies around them in the air, create a frozen path on water, summon enchanted armor and brick bulwarks to defend themselves. When engaging a battlemage on the field there is but one strategy than might guarantee survival... run.
Priest
The priests uses meditation and prayer to attune themselves to the world around them. They can heal themselves and allies, cripple and blind opponents, walk on water, disguise themselves from the creatures around them and even lift enemies in the air.
Warlock
The warlock uses intimate knowledge of the arcane to wreak havoc on the battlefield. They tap into the very forces of nature itself to summon fire and ice, instantly travel shorts distances and even summon the undead to fight alongside them.
- Respect others. No fuss about player's race, ethnicity, sexuality, religion etc
- The mayor / assistants rules and protects the town, don't bother the admins with stuff the mayor / assistants can handle as easy. If a mayor/assistant tells you to leave, you must do so.
- You can not use any command to access areas of which you wouldn't be able to access without those commands (IE /jumpto)
- No using of hacks, x-ray, exploits or bugs for any reason.
- No luring. If you tell someone to come to you in your town to buy something but you have pvp turned on and kill them to steal their items you will be warned.
- No Harassing, No offensive language targeted towards a player, You may not stand on the border of a town and harass the survivors inside it etc
- No duplicating of items, being caught duplicating results in a permanent ban.
- We promise to always keep true to the fact that this server was built for the community.
- You may not trade credits, buildings or similar for real life currency
- Always respect the staff, it is them who make this server possible for you!

As we revel in a sudden explosion of peace, prosperity and invention in our history it seems all that will soon vanish in a cloud of dust and fire. As most must know by now, a rogue asteroid roughly the size of The Isle of Man is on a direct collision course with our planet. Scientists in over 75 nations around the world have verified this. Our world leaders have banded together to embark on the most ambitious project of our brief existence. Pooling the resources from around the world, planning and construction is nearing completion on a fleet of 12 enormous transport ships and an army of support ships to take our race into the stars, that we may find a new home somewhere in the cosmos.
Dissenting voices of some leaders, religious figures and even the U.N. are playing down the imminence of this catastrophic event. They are wrong, driven by greed and power, they will do anything to remain in control. So while we can not order citizens of the world to be passengers we are asking for volunteers. Advanced knowledge in engineering, medical and bio-mechanics, astronomy, physics, chemistry and geology are direly needed. But know this; no one will be turned away. We still need builders, laborers and assistants, and most importantly, a wide and diverse gene pool.
We are looking at a launch window of mid-November, 2011. Construction of the fleet has been completed on schedule and loading of supplies has begun. We still have a lot of open slots so volunteer today, bring your family and friends, we need as many able bodies as we can get. Most people never get a chance in their life to do something great, something extraordinary, something that will change the course of mankind forever. This is your chance.
