Monologica - RPG | Towny | Loot Minecraft Server

Monologica is an RPG-inspired Minecraft server, where we’ve taken our favourite features of classic RPG-styled servers and put our own unique spin on them. Our aim is to capture what’s striking about each system, and expand on it, creating something new and refreshing, without being too unfamiliar.

While Monologica has a fair number of RPG-like features, we’ve kept the main draw of survival servers intact: you’re free to leave spawn to explore and build. We make use of Towny to allow you and (soon-to-be?) friends to group up and build in whatever way you want.

Poetica: A wonderful all-in-one randomized loot solution, Poetica is both an aesthetic, and functional expansion on MythicDrops. Poetica replaces armour and weapon stats to increase variety in gear, allowing for players to decide on their own item builds, rather than simply choosing whatever has the highest level of protection and sharpness. There’s also plenty of unique items to collect, with neat flavour text!

Towny: Create and join a town to protect your structures and keep finer control over various settings! Keep in mind that even in unclaimed land, griefing is against the rules.

Professions: Based on the popular jobs plugin, except with professions, you’re not limited to a set amount- you’re already in all of them, forever! Leveling up your professions unlocks bonus perks, from higher rates on rare drops, to access to special crafting recipes!

Fame: Fame is our spin on server ranks. You can increase your fame two ways: either by leveling up your professions, or by spending in-game money. Much like professions, leveling up your fame yields great perks!

Worlds: Three main worlds exist on Monologica: the main world, the resource world, and the wastelands. In the resource and wastelands worlds (which reset approximately monthly), you’ll have a higher chance of getting rare loot, and get paid more for professions. Beware though! PvP is enabled everywhere in the wastelands!

Death: When you die, you keep all your armour, and items in your hotbar. This is done so that death (especially in lava!) isn’t so unnecessarily penalizing.

3 Update Logs

Update #3 : by inavir 01/19/2018 6:04:08 pmJan 19th, 2018

Our latest update adds an oft-requested for feature to the server, as well as some community suggestions, notably part of a suggestion by Fraejix.

As of this update, you'll be able to both create shops and warps! Note that these (player) warps are different from server warps. Player warps are accessible via /pwarp [player].

Shops Mini-guide:

  • Place down a chest where you'd like to make a shop. For each item, you will need a different chest.
    • Chest shops sell or buy exact copies of what you have in your hand at the time. This means that selling and buying special server items is no problem!

  • To create a shop, use the /shop create [amount] [buy price] [sell price] command.
    • The amount refers to the amount of items the shop will buy or sell at once.
    • The buy price refers to the amount it will cost for customers to buy something from your shop.
    • The sell price refers to the amount you will pay for the item.

  • Right click on the chest you placed to turn it into a shop.

  • To see information regarding a shop,
  • To buy an item from a shop, right click on it, or its info hologram.
  • To sell a item from a shop, left click on it.
  • You can buy and sell a stack of items at once by shift clicking.

  • To break a shop, use /shop remove, then right click on the chest.
  • You must remove the shop before breaking the chest.

Player Warps Mini-guide:

Caution:
any player who intentionally creates a malicious player warp may have their warp removed, with or without a refund.

Setting a warp
  • Stand in the location where you'd like to set your warp.
  • Use /pwarp set. It costs 5k every time you change your warp location.

Using warps
  • Use /pwarp [player] or /pwarp tp [player] to teleport to their set warp point, if they have one.

Removing a warp
  • Use /pwarp delete to remove your warp. It will cost you 5k to change it again afterwards, so be careful!

By far the most unique, and well thought out survival server I've been on. I highly recommend joining!
