Hello there!
Pinewoods is a vanilla survival server. Pinewoods is focused on the community aspect of Minecraft multiplayer, so we encourage people to make towns and what-not.
Although I've said that it is vanilla, there are still a small amount of plugins to make it simpler to do things for the administrators and to help us catch bad guys. The famous Essentials plugin is not installed on the server, as it affects the vanilla feel too much.
There isn't really much to say about the server, because it's the players that define it.
