Well in short:
This server is a good one to meet Bronies and talk about MLP with nice peoples, but it's definitely not a good place for big builders and shops builders and others serious minecraft players.

For the long story:
Here are the good and bad points of the server :

Good :
Peoples are generally nice, players don't act badly, there is no pvp or war or things like this here.

Economy easy to use : you can sell and buy anything at the spawn shop, so no more problem of that material you absolutely need and which blocks you and which no one else have.

Full anti grief protection : your house has no risk of being destroyed or burgled with it, and even if you forget to apply the protection, staff can still read logs to repair it and punish the griefer.


Bad :
Also the economy :
If it's very practical for casual player to obtain material from the spawn shop, this shop crush all possible competition to a player-held one :
- Quickly accessible : At spawn, so easier than any other location of the world.
- Infinite stock : When player-held one is limited by what he mined or farmed, the shop spawn can sell as much as you want.
- Infinite buy : This kill all the inter-player trading, which is a great part of minecraft socializing in others servers.
Also the other effect of that shop is that players sell all their unwanted material to the spawn shop to make money instead of selling or giving them to other players, this lead to loss of a lot of construction material.
It also encourage players who want money to build automatic farms instead of shops, leading to less realistic and working shops in cities.

The reset :
Yes, they do reset, even if they don't admit it, they do it, for no particular reasons.
If you try to ask staff how is the reset policy there, they will deny or tell you lies to make you stay on the server and build, and when you have several months of building, it's too late !
Well, they still allow a transfer, but of only one building, with limited size, so if you made one building of that size, it's good for you, you won't lose your creation, but if the building is bigger or if you prefer to build cities, then you will lose it.
And there is nothing you can do against that, they don't care if it bring activity to the server, they don't care that this policy hurt way more the big builders, they just do it.
I even tried when it happened to understand why they needed to reset, or to propose technical solutions to avoid it (like a ore-regrowing mod, a map converter or something similar as i'm an I.T. engineer), but they see disagreeing to reset only as a "drama situation to handle", which leads to the following point :

Staff behavior :
Well when you comes to the server, the staff will appear nice, which is what it is most of the time, but there is something staff absolutely hates : disagreeing with him !
When it happens, you can forget the "love and tolerate", you will be treated as bad as if you were an insulting troll who came only to grief, stole and destroy.
It don't matter what you have done before: you may be appreciated by other players, you may have always respected the server rules, you may have donated money to the server (for free, there is nothing paid except a heart to your nickname), you may have helped to build several buildings to the staff's project Equestria (reconstitution of the canon world).
At the second you emit a disagreement to staff, it's the start of a campaign against you which will increase in violence until you accept to agree or until you get banned.
The staff also act like this internally: a lot of staff members were brutally demoted when they just tried to make proposals to improve the server when they saw drops in activity.
The problem is, the server is now losing more and more peoples, when i played first 3 years ago, there was 40 players connected every day, now if it's above 5 players, it's a party ...
The staff never question themselves, they don't pay the server's machine so they simply don't care if the server is empty, so this server is currently diying and there is no signs of change.

On a side note, most of the screenshots of the cities you see here were made by staff (Cardinal and Channel city are both staff cities).
They used world edit to flatten/level/modifty the terrain, and materials were cheated for the Hall of Classes.
Players don't have access to those tools, so they simply don't do large towns like this in survival because of the reset risk and because there is too few players to start one.
Only the pictures of player's houses in nature are legit survival buildings.

I hope this gets an Admins attention, I've posted on the forums, my concern with being unable to connect and yet, this site shows an active ping to the server and 9 players on-line. Will someone please tell me what's going on?
