I fully understand where you are coming from so I shall try explain as best as I can (I am very tired atm so if this makes no sense then I apologise in advance :3)
Right, so the arms have the dark bits in the middle to show the bend in the arm/elbow but in the front (I'll admit that it is a tad intense and could have been done better so I will take that on board for future updates ^_^)
And the hands... I honestly am still learning :3 I thought they looked aiight and tried to not shade too much and with the gloves it was a tad tough for me but as I said before, I am still learning >.<
