Hello there. So I have been pondering on what to make for this month's contest, and the theme is Emotions. I saw that a lot of people were making "happy" "sad" "angry" I thought I could think of something more... Interesting. ;o I decided to make envy in the form of a human. We've all been there. Someone has something you want, you feel envious... The thing around her ankle is a broken chain. (You'll see what this has to do with the poem) I think this is a pretty good idea, but that's just my opinion. o-o;

The poem.

I awake... Enveloped in this feeling. I can't quite put a word to it...
My humanity has been taken away, replaced with something indescribable.
They took it away. They have it. They will not give it back.
I break free of the chain that was keeping me confined for all this time.
Freedom at last, to do and say what I want.
What is left of my true self will soon be gone. I need help. I need you.
The smoggy sky is clouding up my vision, soon nothing will be left.
My eyes glaze over to them, holding what I hold dear to me.
I try to shout out, but can't.
I know what it is I feel now, what is inside of me.
Envy.

Meaning: Envy builds up inside of you. You feel it, but don't want to say anything, fearing others will judge you.
You will soon become faulty and crack, breaking free of the dark cloud that was hanging over you.
You simply have to let those feelings out and tell someone how you feel.
