I made the 16 bit mario from Super Mario Bros, This time I filmed making the skin in skinedit (btw I have a mac so please don't ask why I don't use mcskin3D:).
I made this video to show you guys the early steps of shading a skin although this is not exactly how I start off my shading, this is an easy and good looking technique you guys can use. After this step you can (if you want) use the smudge and dodge/burn tool in gimp to fulfil shades.
