Bundeswehr Background:


The Bundeswehr (German: [ˈbʊndəsˌveːɐ̯] , meaning literally: Federal Defence) is the unified armed forces of Germany and their civil administration and procurement authorities. The states of Germany are not allowed to maintain armed forces of their own because the German Constitution states that matters of defense fall into the sole responsibility of the federal government.

The Bundeswehr is divided into a military part (armed forces or Streitkräfte) and a civil part with the armed forces administration (Wehrverwaltung). The military part of the federal defense force consists of the German Army, the German Navy, the German Air Force, the Joint Support Service, the Joint Medical Service, and the Cyber and Information Domain Service.

As of July 2021, the Bundeswehr has a strength of 184,507 active-duty military personnel and 80,374 civilians, placing it among the 30 largest military forces in the world and making it the second largest in the European Union behind France in personnel. In addition the Bundeswehr has approximately 30,050 reserve personnel (2020). With German military expenditures at $52.8 billion, the Bundeswehr is the seventh best-funded military in the world, even though military expenditures remain average at 1.4% of national GDP, well below the (non-binding) NATO target of 2%. Germany aims to expand the Bundeswehr to around 203,000 soldiers by 2025 to better cope with increasing responsibilities.

NATO Background:


The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO, /ˈneɪtoʊ/; French: Organisation du traité de l'Atlantique nord, OTAN), also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance between 28 European countries and 2 North American countries. The organization implements the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 4 April 1949.

NATO constitutes a system of collective security, whereby its independent member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by any external party. The NATO headquarters are located in Brussels, Belgium, while the headquarters of Allied Command Operations is near Mons, Belgium.

Since its founding, the admission of new member states has increased the alliance from the original 12 countries to 30. The most recent member state to be added to NATO was North Macedonia on 27 March 2020. NATO currently recognizes Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and Ukraine as aspiring members. An additional 20 countries participate in NATO's Partnership for Peace programme, with 15 other countries involved in institutionalized dialogue programmes. The combined military spending of all NATO members in 2020 constituted over 57% of the global nominal total. Members agreed that their aim is to reach or maintain the target defence spending of at least 2% of their GDP by 2024.


ACMF-NATO Conflict/WW3 Backgounrd:

The ACMF-NATO conflict is often referred to as World War III. It lasted from 2026 to 2032, where it was ended by the Flash after six years of fighting. Not much is known about the war or events leading up to it. It was the deadliest war in human history, most likely surpassing World War II. In the lore of Osaka, the United States Marines failed to invade China due to electromagnetic pulses going over Japan. As revealed in Sandstorm the ACMF were invading the South of the USA. Although not revealed in lore, there are most likely more invasions Europe and Asia. As there are stranded ACMF as a result of the war, also stranded members of NATO. It is unknown which side fired nuclear missiles first. In MEB's lore, Brazil was also struck due to a 'nuke-your-neighbors' policy. The other reason for the US was because of to prevent Brazil or any nation to dominate North America or more.
