Avios, a lesser god within the pantheon of Old Gods, was disgusted by his kind. As ancient edicts forbade direct conflict between Gods, instead they forced their mortal worshipers to fight innumerable proxy wars that devastated the realm and corrupted it nearly beyond repair. So Avios dreamed of a world where no Gods could live, where mortals could champion their own causes and take the reins of their own destiny.
