Ha, nice, I'm actually an art history minor (what I call the major/minor for people who like art but are no good for making it) :P
That's part of the fun of minecraft, I think, exploring and digging...so an archaeologist skin was a natural

Ah, very nice! Great colors and shading, and the hat turned out perfect. :) The only problem that I see would be the hands, look at how I make my hands, I think it's a good technique.
